Trade-in Terms
Before you send your trade-in
All trade-in requests are reviewed first. We’ll confirm whether we can accept your items and arrange postage or pickup before you send anything. Your final trade-in value will be confirmed after inspection.
Initial approval is permission to send your items, not a guaranteed final price. Once we approve your request, we confirm postage or an agreed pickup with you. After your items arrive we inspect them and send you a final offer, which you can accept or decline from your trade-in account.
Melbourne pickup & delivery
Based in Melbourne’s western suburbs, we offer local delivery and trade-in pickups across Melbourne by arrangement, subject to availability. Contact us with your suburb and details of your order or trade-in so we can confirm availability, timing and any fees. If we can’t make it out to you, we can discuss postage options instead.
Local delivery and pickup requests are not confirmed bookings until we reply to confirm them.

Who can trade
You must be 18 or older to trade with Gameventory. If you’re under 18, a parent or legal guardian must arrange and complete the trade-in in their own name.
Do not include identity documents in collection photos or send them by ordinary email. Contact us for identity-check instructions before posting items.
What we accept
We accept and sell genuine games and consoles from all regions, including PAL, NTSC-U, NTSC-J and region-free releases. Instant estimates apply to the listed region; other regions and unlisted items can be submitted for manual review. Region, language and console compatibility are checked before a final offer. You must own the items or have the owner’s permission to sell them. We do not buy stolen, counterfeit or reproduction items. Disclose known faults, repairs, modifications and missing components.
Estimates and completeness
Instant quotes are estimates, not guaranteed final offers. Loose, Game + Case and Complete in Box (CIB) copies may receive different values. Customers do not need to select a condition grade. We confirm condition and completeness after receiving and inspecting the items.
Submitting a request does not mean we have agreed to buy your items. Wait for approval and agreed postage or pickup arrangements before sending anything. Initial approval is permission to send items; final valuation follows inspection. Any proposed change to an agreed offer will be explained for your acceptance.
Trade-in postage
The minimum accepted trade-in value is $30. Free trade-in postage applies when the agreed value is above $30. Exactly $30 does not qualify. We confirm the agreed value and postage arrangements with you before you send anything.
Use our prepaid label where supplied. Do not buy postage expecting reimbursement unless we have agreed this with you first. Pack items securely, include your trade-in reference and keep tracking and postage receipts. Contact us promptly if a parcel appears missing or damaged so we can investigate.
Preparing consoles and collections
Back up your data, remove personal information, sign out and remove account locks before sending a console. Include only the items listed in your submission. Collection photos should show the items, inclusions and condition; do not include identity documents or payment details. If identification is required, we will explain the appropriate process separately.
Inspection and your final offer
We check the title, platform, region, authenticity, completeness, physical condition and functionality. This includes discs or cartridges, cases, artwork, manuals, and console components such as cables and controllers. We may clean and test items during assessment.
Your final offer may be higher or lower than the estimate. We explain any differences and ask you to accept the final offer before proceeding, including where the amount is unchanged.
If you decline
You can request return of your items at your postage cost if you decline the final offer. We confirm that cost before arranging the return. This does not exclude responsibility Gameventory has for its own error, loss or damage, or any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Cash and store credit
Choose cash or store credit when accepting your final offer. We aim to send payment within 1–2 business days after inspection and acceptance. We confirm the payment method with you; bank processing may affect when cash arrives. There are no seller fees or trade-in processing fees.
Store credit is available only after it has been issued to your account. Pending trade-in estimates are not spendable credit. Use the same email address when signing in to see and spend your available credit. We will disclose any applicable credit conditions before you accept a credit offer.
Your information and questions
We use submitted details and photos to assess and manage your trade-in as described in our Privacy Policy. Keep your reference and offer correspondence. View recorded request updates in My Trade-ins or email us for help.
